Affiliate Disclosure
Last updated: 10 October 2026
ToolPicker is free to use. We are independent: our comparisons and verdicts are based on the makers’ own specs and our own experience. If and where we ever feature paid or sponsored content, we label it clearly and keep it separate from our comparisons and verdicts.
Like most comparison sites, we earn a small commission when you buy through links to retailers, at no extra cost to you. That is how we keep the site free. The short version is below; open any section for the detail.
How ToolPicker makes money
When you click through to a retailer from ToolPicker and go on to buy, we may receive a small commission from that retailer, paid through an affiliate network such as Awin. It never changes the price you pay.
We may also carry advertising, sponsored or promoted content in future. Where we do, we will label it clearly, so you always know what you are looking at.
How we stay independent
Commercial arrangements never influence our comparisons or our verdicts. Specs come from the makers’ own documentation, and where a maker doesn’t publish a figure we say so rather than guess.
Where we show prices from more than one retailer, they are listed cheapest first, including delivery, whatever commission each one pays us.
Any advert or sponsored placement is kept clearly separate from our comparisons and verdicts, and is always labelled as such.
How to spot an affiliate link
Links to retailers on ToolPicker, such as the “View at” buttons beside prices, are affiliate links, and we mark them “We may earn a commission”. You are always free to visit any retailer directly; it makes no difference to the price you pay.
Prices and availability
Prices come from retailers’ own product feeds and are updated daily, so a price or stock level can change between updates. We show delivery alongside the price. The price and availability on the retailer’s own website at the time of purchase are the ones that apply to your order.
We only show prices from retailers whose feeds we receive, so other shops may sell the same tool for a different price.
A shop link won’t open. Why?
Our buttons to retailers go through Awin, the affiliate network that tells the retailer we sent you. Some ad blockers, and the tracker blocking built into some VPNs and browsers, block Awin’s links. Depending on the app, you’ll see a warning page with an option to continue, or a “site can’t be reached” message. Nothing is wrong with the retailer or with ToolPicker.
If that happens, you can:
- choose to continue, if your blocker gives you the option;
- go to the retailer’s own website and search for the product there. Going through our link doesn’t change the price you pay; we just won’t earn a commission on it, and that’s fine;
- or, if you’re happy to support ToolPicker, allow awin1.com in your blocker’s settings, or pause it for that one click.
