In short
Bosch Green is the DIY and home-and-garden side of Bosch’s power tool business, which Bosch sells as Bosch Home & Garden. It runs on the 18V POWER FOR ALL battery, which also powers partner brands’ tools such as Gardena and Flymo. It is a separate system from Bosch Professional (blue): Bosch keeps the two 18V battery platforms apart, so check which one you are buying into. The range comes in three tiers, Easy, Universal and Advanced, stepping up in power and features, and some models, such as the UniversalImpact 18V-60 and AdvancedImpact 18V-80, have brushless motors. It suits people doing up the house, or buying their first drill, who want one battery for power tools and garden kit; trades working with their tools every day will usually be better served by Bosch Professional.
Strengths
- One 18V POWER FOR ALL battery runs Bosch Green power tools and partner garden tools
- 2-year guarantee as standard, 3 years with MyBosch registration
- Easy, Universal and Advanced tiers make it simple to pick a level
- Light tools: several drills and drivers weigh around 1kg without a battery
Considerations
- A separate battery system from Bosch Professional (blue) 18V, so check which one you are buying into
- Battery packs and chargers are not covered by the 3-year extension
- Bosch publishes fewer figures for green tools than for blue ones, so some specs show as Not listed
- Built for DIY use rather than daily trade work
Questions
Is Bosch Green the same as Bosch Professional?
No. Green is Bosch’s DIY and home-and-garden range on the 18V POWER FOR ALL battery; blue is Bosch Professional for trade use on its own 18V system. Bosch keeps the two battery systems separate.
What guarantee do Bosch Green tools have?
Two years as standard. Register the tool on MyBosch within 4 weeks of purchase and it goes up to 3 years. The extension does not cover battery packs or chargers.
What is POWER FOR ALL?
It is the 18V battery alliance behind Bosch Green. One pack runs Bosch’s green power and garden tools and the tools of partner brands in the scheme.
