About Power X-Change 18V Twin (36V)

In short

Einhell’s 36V tools, such as the larger cordless mitre saws and the AXXIO 36/230 Q grinder, don’t use a separate 36V battery. They take two standard 18V Power X-Change packs at once, which Einhell calls TWIN-PACK, and combine them for 36V.

So any Power X-Change battery you already own works in them. You just need two, and Einhell recommends a minimum pack size for some tools (2.5Ah or 3.0Ah and up, depending on the tool).

Strengths

  • Uses the standard Power X-Change 18V batteries: no separate 36V pack to buy
  • Existing Power X-Change batteries carry over
  • Runs larger tools, such as 254mm sliding mitre saws and a 230mm grinder, without a cable

  • Needs two batteries in the tool at once
  • Heavier to carry with both packs fitted
  • Some tools need a minimum pack size, so small older packs may not be enough

They take two 18V Power X-Change batteries at once and combine them for 36V. Einhell calls this TWIN-PACK.

Do I need special 36V batteries?

No. Any two Einhell Power X-Change 18V batteries fit, though some tools ask for a minimum capacity, such as 2.5Ah or 3.0Ah.

Will a 36V tool run on one battery?

No. Both battery slots need a pack.
