Physical & Build
The DHP458 is an older higher-power 18V LXT brushed combi, a 2-speed 91Nm drill that bores a strong 65mm in wood and 16mm in masonry. It is heavier at 1.7kg bare and brushed, predating Makita's brushless line, but the raw capacity is still useful. We rate it a capable big-capacity brushed option; for the same power class with brushless efficiency, the DHP486 or DHP492 are the modern choices.
