Physical & Build
The entry point to Makita's 165mm LXT saws, a brushed model stripped back to the essentials. On spec it gives 57mm of depth at 90° and bevels to 50° at 3700rpm, but it does without the LED light and electric brake of the fuller-featured DSS610. At 2.4kg bare it is the lightest of the Makita 165mm LXT saws here, though at 96 dB(A) it is no quieter, so the difference is about features rather than performance. A reasonable entry-level pick for an occasional user already on Makita 18V who does not need the extras.
