The verdictOur take

The 115mm on Makita's 40V max XGT platform, built for more sustained power than the 18V line and aimed at heavier daily use. Brushless with an electric brake, soft start, Star Protection and AFT bind-sensing, on a lock-on slide switch. If your work is hard enough that an 18V 115 runs out of puff and you are building an XGT kit, this is the pick; the GA012 is the same tool with a paddle switch.
