Physical & Build
The DWS780 is the long-standing benchmark 305mm trade mitre saw, cutting 303 × 110mm at 90° (the tallest vertical capacity in this group) with dual-bevel adjustment and DeWalt's XPS shadow-line cut guide, which casts a true blade shadow with no laser to calibrate. It is a corded workhorse rather than a space-saver, as its conventional rear sliding rails need clearance behind the bench, and at 25.5kg it is a fixed-shop saw. We rate it the safe default for site and workshop chop work; if bench space is tight, Makita's flush-to-wall LS1219L or Bosch's glide-arm GCM 12 GDL sit closer to the wall.
