The Makita DA4000LR is a 110V corded stud & joist angle drill with 710W input, 123Nm, two speeds up to 900rpm, a 13mm keyed chuck and a 153mm head that turns 360°, at 3.7kg. It takes self-feed bits to 118mm and augers to 38mm, and it is the only corded stud & joist drill here. We rate it a strong mains choice for heavy boring on site; the DA4000LR/2 is the 240V version, and Makita's cordless DDA460 takes the same 118mm self-feed bits.
