What It Can Bore
The Makita DA4000LR is a 240V corded stud & joist angle drill with 710W input, 123Nm, two speeds up to 900rpm, a 13mm keyed chuck and a 153mm head that turns 360°, at 3.7kg. It takes self-feed bits to 118mm and augers to 38mm, and it is the only corded stud & joist drill here. We rate it a strong mains choice for heavy boring in the workshop or at home; the DA4000LR/1 is the 110V version, and the cordless DDA460 takes the same 118mm self-feed bits.
