Physical & Build
Makita's compact brushless 165mm saw, and the one to look at if balance and handling matter most. On spec the brushless motor lifts speed to 5000rpm with 57mm of depth at 90°, and the blade-right, side-battery layout keeps it light at 2.6kg bare with a low centre of gravity that many find easier to control. It is the quietest of the 165mm LXT saws at 93 dB(A), with an LED fitted. A strong everyday pick for second-fix and general site work on Makita 18V.
