The verdictOur take

The blade-left brushless 165mm saw, aimed at users who want a clear sightline and a little more intelligence in the motor. On spec it runs at 5000rpm with 57mm of depth, and adds Automatic Torque Drive, which shifts between high speed and high torque depending on load. It also takes a guide rail, via the 196953-0 adapter, which suits anyone wanting occasional rail accuracy. The trade-off against the DHS660 is a slightly heavier body (2.7kg bare against 2.6kg); both have an LED and come with a parallel guide. A good choice where sightline and rail capability matter.
