Performance
Physical & Build
The DTD173 is Makita's flagship 18V LXT impact driver, a 4-stage brushless tool (180Nm) with dedicated wood, bolt and self-tapping modes plus an assist function, in a compact 111mm body at just 0.85kg bare. The extra modes give fine control over different fasteners that simpler drivers lack. We rate it a strong all-round LXT driver; the DTD172 is much the same tool slightly longer, while the brushed DTD156 or DTD152 are the entry-level options.
