The verdictOur take

The HS6601 is Makita's compact corded 165mm saw: 1050W, 54.5mm at 90° and 3.4kg, with a parallel guide and blade in the box. It suits sheet material and second fix; for 2in framing you want a 190mm saw such as the HS7601. This is the 110V version; the 240V model is otherwise identical.
