The SP001G is Makita's flagship plunge saw on the 40V XGT platform, and at 3.7kg bare it is one of the lightest cordless saws here, second only to Festool's TSC 55, while still cutting 56mm at 90°. It includes the AWS wireless extractor trigger, runs smoother (1.8 m/s²) and quieter (92 dB(A)) than the 18V Makitas, and ships with a case. We would point XGT owners and anyone wanting one of the lightest cordless options here; LXT-platform trades who do not want a second battery system should look at the DSP601 instead.
