The DCS520 is the quietest saw in this entire group by a clear margin at 82.2 dB(A), around 10 dB below most rivals, thanks to its brushless FlexVolt motor, and it pairs that with low 1.1 m/s² vibration and a useful 59mm cut depth (55mm on rail). It runs DeWalt's 54V FlexVolt batteries and has DeWalt's Wireless Tool Control built in, so it can start a WTC extractor such as the DCV586M. The catch for track-saw buyers is rails: DeWalt uses a proprietary profile, so it runs only on DeWalt rails, not Festool or Makita. We rate it the standout cordless choice for noise-sensitive sites and FlexVolt owners; if rail interchangeability matters, the Milwaukee FPS55 or a Makita is more flexible.
