The verdictOur take

The corded DWS520 is the long-running DeWalt plunge saw, cutting 59mm at 90° (55mm on rail) on a 165mm blade, supplied with a 48T blade in a TSTAK case (the guide rail is sold separately). It is brushed rather than brushless, with 2.8 m/s² vibration and 92 dB(A) noise, well off the cordless DCS520, and like all DeWalt plunge saws it uses proprietary rails only. We would suggest it for DeWalt-loyal sites wanting a corded plunge saw; for smoother, quieter cutting the Bosch GKT 55 GCE or a Makita SP6000J are stronger corded picks.
