Dust & Extraction
Festool's only grinder, and a different proposition to the rest of the category: a 125mm built around refinement and dust control rather than raw output. Its standout is vibration, damped to 3.7 m/s² at the side handle, among the lowest of any grinder here and easy on the hands over a long day. You also get variable speed from 4,500 to 8,500 rpm across six stages, a motor brake, soft start, recoil protection that cuts the motor if the disc jams, and a quick-action nut for tool-free disc changes; paired with a Festool Bluetooth battery and a CT extractor it starts dust extraction automatically. The trade-off is a smaller battery ecosystem than the 18V majors, so we would point to it for anyone already in the Festool system or who puts dust and vibration control first.
