The verdictOur take

The CL002G is Makita's 40V XGT brushless stick vacuum that uses a bag rather than a bin, with 20 l/s of airflow, 21 kPa of suction and 1.1kg bare. It takes a reusable 0.5L cloth bag or a disposable paper bag, and has four speeds with mode memory and an LED; it is sold body only. We rate it a tidy choice for XGT owners who would rather bin a bag than tip out a container; the CL001G has a bagless 0.73L bin at 1kg, and the CL003G adds an integrated cyclone unit.
