The verdictOur take

The DF033D is Makita's brushed 12V max CXT drill driver with a 1/4" hex holder, a 2-speed 30Nm tool reaching 1,700rpm, with 20 torque settings and 0.72kg bare. It is aimed at light fixing, assembly and small pilot holes, with 21mm in wood. We rate it a sensible entry to CXT for light work; the brushless DF032D adds torque at 35Nm and weighs 0.67kg, and the DF333D is the version with a keyless chuck.
