The SP6000J is Makita's corded plunge saw and a long-standing trade favourite, cutting 56mm at 90° on a 165mm blade with a smooth 1.9 m/s² vibration figure. It is brushed with no electronic kickback tech, and noise is on the louder side at 95 dB(A), but it sits on the widely shared Festool-pattern rails so Festool, Makita and Milwaukee tracks all fit. We rate it a dependable corded all-rounder; if you want quieter running the Bosch GKT 55 GCE is notably softer, and the cordless DSP600 frees you from the cable.
