The verdictOur take

The Makita DDA351 is an 18V LXT compact angle drill with an 88mm head, a single speed of 1,800rpm and a 10mm keyless chuck. At 1.1kg bare it is the lightest 18V compact angle drill here, drilling 25mm in wood and taking self-feed bits to 50mm. We rate it a neat access drill for LXT owners working between joists and inside cabinets; DeWalt's DCD740 adds a second gear, and the 12V DA333D has an even shorter 84mm head.
