The verdictOur take

The DDF458 is a brushed 18V LXT drill driver with plenty of muscle: 91Nm, a 13mm keyless chuck, 21 torque settings and 76mm in wood, at 1.7kg bare. It suits heavier boring and long screws where outright grunt matters more than weight. We rate it a capable big-capacity option on LXT; for the same 76mm wood capacity with a brushless motor and more torque, the DDF492 is the step up.
