The verdictOur take

The DF332D is Makita's 12V max CXT brushless drill driver, a 2-speed 35Nm tool with a 10mm keyless chuck, 20 torque settings and 0.79kg bare. It drills 27mm in wood and 10mm in steel, enough for most second fix and cabinet work. We rate it a well-balanced 12V drill driver; the brushed DF333D is the simpler alternative, and the 18V DDF490 is the step up at 50Nm and 38mm in wood.
